The Purple Stitch Project

Bernat is one of the sponsors of this project there is a call for plushies for children with epilepsy. The details can be found at the link below.

I made one well I guess you could call it a thing and am working on a second. I never know what my critters are going to be until they are finished. This one is all bernat yarn with the exception of the hairy stuff.

Thank you I am hoping some child will love it. I am working on a second one, I think it will end up being a swineosaurus, it has kind of a piggy face. Me being me though can't make just a pig, it has to be something odd :D

The Purple Project is way cool! :cooldude:

I'll see what I can put together for a donation. I just love knitting for charity. :cloud9:

Made a more conservative thing, it is a pig thing, it does have a little curly tail but the photo I took at that angle came out blurry.

Thank you zhanie :) I had loads of fun, took the little "things" to the library to show a friend and ended up making 6 more for kids and grand kids of friends. I should write down a pattern, but too lazy , so they end up how they end up ha ha.

I realized I didn't post the link leading to the address to send plushies and stuff so I will post it here from the blog page.

WHAT: Any plushie (animal, doll, robot, etc.) made or embellished with PURPLE yarn or fabric. Just keep in mind that the kids at this camp aren’t little-bitty, so let’s try and stay away from anything that seems too babyish.
WHEN: Finished plushies are due by July 20th.

WHERE: Send items to:
Purple Stitch Project
9901 Brodie Ln.
Ste 160 #268
Austin, TX 78748

WHY: Because handmade = love.

Hi babyhatter,

'the Thing' is too cute. I'm sorry I learned of the purple project way too late. If this is a yearly project, I can plan now & make a few purple softies and set aside for next time. Something to look into. Thanks.

It isn't too late, there are several requests coming from various hospitals for items. Hats, scarves, plushies or anything that is purple. The address above is where things can be mailed. Please google the purple stitch project for more information if needed.
