Help with Baby Cardigan Sweater

Postby Kodikins » Fri Sep 07, 2012 4:20 pm

I am making a baby cardigan sweater from a pattern I found on the web and I am at the point of adding the ribbing on each side of the front. I'm basically looking for some opinions regarding which side of the sweater I should place the buttons, as I don't know whether my new grandchild will be a boy or a girl. The pattern is broken out with instructions for both regarding which side should have the button holes; but I'm not sure which way would be correct to make it gender neutral. Any guidance from the experts on this forum would be greatly appreciated! :helpme:

Congradulations for the new grandchild. :bravo: Will he or she be the first one in the family???
Personnally I don't give too much thought about what side to put the buttons or button holes . I'm just thinking which way is easier for the parent to button the sweater. but this is my own 2 cents. ;) :hellogoodbye:

Yes, this is the first grandchild in the family. I was thinking along the same lines as you, making it easier for the parent. Thanks for your input. :hellogoodbye:
