Different patterns for Baby blanket yarn

Postby Capuc1ne » Tue Sep 18, 2012 9:07 am

Good morning,

I am making a nice blanket with the Baby blanket yarn. It is so soft, my two bigger kids want something made with that yarn... but not a blanket! I cannot find any other patterns on the website... actually, there is only one pattern available for crochet with this yarn, which I find very disappointing...

Does anyone have pattern I could use??? My kids would love a vest or a hat... or even a plush toy.

This yard is very thick and I am afraid at trying to adapt a pattern made for a thiner yarn...

Thank you very much for your help!

How about a scarf would they like that? You might also be able to adapt patterns for "On The Fringe" or "Colorama" yarns. These are also a #6 Superbulky weight. There are patterns that are free downloads from this site for both knitting and crocheting.

Very good recommendation, ewezer!

You can use any other pattern that is designed for super bulky yarn. Just be sure to do a gauge swatch, to determine if you will need to change needle or hook size. :)
