Bernat Handicrafter Holidays Yarn

Postby BookPurrson » Wed Oct 10, 2012 3:02 pm

Hello!

I'm a newbie and am a Beginner+ crocheter. Any ideas on what I can make with the Handicrafter Holidays yarn? Any projects for just one skein? I donate most of my items through our church and we've done lap afghans, baby hats, booties, etc.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi Sharon! :hellogoodbye: Welcome to the Bernat Forum.

The Bernat Handicrafter Holidays yarn is fun to work with. You'll find lots of fun crochet patterns for that yarn right here on the Bernat website.

i just bought 340g handicrafter holiday yarn and was wondering if this is a center pull yarn skein or do i have to take the label off and let it roll around on the floor to use it?

:hellogoodbye: I have used the 340g/12oz. and I pulled from the middle. I usually put my yarn in a coffee can so it doesn't roll around and stays where I put it.

Thank you for the info. I will try that with the coffee can.

When I have to hold two strands together (like the handles of the mermaid tears purse) I take one from the middle of the ball and the other end from the outside after removing the wrapper. I then place the ball in my handy dandy Tupperware round vegetable (with vents) container. It is deep enough to keep the ball inside and round enough to allow the ball to bounce enough to let the yarn flow so I never have to fiddle with it. I can't say I have ever bought my coffee in a can so I couldn't use that idea.

You can use the yarn anyway you want! I like to pull from the center of the skein, so it doesn't roll around.
Here's the video Bernat made, which shows how to start from the center of a big skein.
