baby jaquard kimono

Postby 1smartladi » Thu Oct 11, 2012 7:27 pm

I am having trouble trying to figure out what is meant in the baby jacquard kimono pattern where is says:

BACK:
after you finish the length and bind off - it says : place markers 2 1/4 ins in from sides for shoulders....I cannot picture this.

I can figure out the placement of markers for the sleeves but then how the sweater goes together is:
Sew in sleeves, placing rows above markers along cast off sts of Fronts and Back to form square armholes.

Is this something I just need to finish the sweater and play around with?

Measure from the outside edges for the 2 1/4 inches and sew back to fronts in that 2 1/4 inches the rest of the back is for the neck opening. Then sew in the sleeves. I have made this kimono and am posting a picture so you can see what I mean.

Yes sometimes it's too easy to overthink something. My Grandmother's advice was to just walk away from a project and then go back to it with a fresh mind. Thank you it was part of a baby shower gift for a friend of my Granddaughter. Looking forward to seeing a pic. of your Kimono when you have it finished.
