Knit as usual but don't take the loop off, twist the needle to the back and knit again, then drop the loop off. the decrease was like the coin purse. Knit 2tog. Bernat.com (at the top right of the screen) has instructions, that might help you understand better.

Thanks!!! You have been a great help. I will try this soon. I missed out on the 3rd learn to knit project :scared:
Can't believe Imissed that one. Will have to try it on my own time. Wish me luck.

I have 4 of these started, got to the bind off, then haven't bothered to sew any together yet or to add buttons. Which is why I haven't posted a finished photo yet, there isn't one! Teehee
And I can tell how knew I am to knitting, each of my coin purse pieces are all different sizes. No two are the same. And I did use same needles throughout. My tension just keeps changing on me. Which is why I kept making this pattern, nice and easy to work on tension issues. Now to seam them all up ...

This is a wonderful project for working on your knitting gauge, isn't it?
I've noticed that sometimes my gauge changes, according to my mood. If I'm relaxed, I knit slow and easy. If I'm nervous or worried about something, my gauge gets tighter.

I wonder if your different projects have been affected by emotions? :hrmm:
Were they all knit with the same type yarn?

I've started to make this. I can't find bernat satin in my home town so i'm using another brand in a varigated color. I have 3 rows done, and its not looking like the picture. I will do a few more and see if it starts looking like the picture. That purl stitch is a booger :hrmm: to do. The knit stitch :knit: is easy. But flipping the yarn to the front is awkward to me, but I will continue. I still don't know how to hold the yarn in my hand with all the flipping back to front and front to back. It will take me awhile to do this one, but I will not give up. :D

I remember having trouble with the purl stitch when I was first learning it. It just feels so DIFFERENT from the knit stitch, doesn't it? Just keep practicing, and be patient with yourself. Before too long, you will start to feel the flow of it, and it won't be so bothersome.

My first purl stitch project was a ribbed scarf. I gave it to charity, to help keep someone warm. It wasn't beautiful, but I'm sure it was appreciated by the person who needed it.

I used to love making charity projects when I was first learning to knit. I made hats, scarves, blanket squares, and slippers. I wonder where they are now? :hrmm:
