Those cupcakes look tasty! And the colors are very glamorous.

Last night, I was up most of the night, washing clothes. Earlier in the day, I knew I would be doing this, so I made some fresh oyster stew in my small crock pot. It was so yummy!

Here's how I made it:

CROCK POT OYSTER STEW
(in a very small 2 quart crock pot)

Put half a stick of butter in bottom of crock pot. Turn knob to HIGH setting.
Wait until butter melts, then pour in a small can of oysters. (Be sure to check the oysters for any shell particles)
Season with salt, pepper, and worcestershire sauce.
Pour in whole milk until the crock pot is filled up to 1/2 inch below rim. Stir.
Cook on HIGH for one hour.

Stir again, then turn knob to LOW setting. Let cook for about 4-5 hours.

Serve with crackers. Enjoy!

You can add potatoes and other veggies before adding the milk, if you want, but I like mine without them.

Shandeh you almost make me miss seafood! Your oyster stew recipe sounds excellent, even to a veg! ;) I love hearing about your Southern cooking. Shandeh Deen ? :D
I am having baked spaghetti. We had spaghetti and sauce last night; I just always make a BIG batch of pasta and sauce, then I take leftover and place in my Polish stoneware baking dish, and top it with LOTS of shredded mozzarella. I bake it till bubbly, and Presto! quick satisfying dinner. I like to serve my spaghetti with rustic artisan bread, along with olive oil to dip in! I season my olive oil with Mrs. Dash and it's sooo good! :cloud9:

By the way, back in the day (WAY back in the day!!) when I was in Middle School, the cooks served a baked pasta dish like mine described above, and called it "John Marzetti." Ever heard of that? My husband can't believe the name of that dish. I just call it Pasta Fazool.

Oh, mittenmaker! My mouth is watering!
After two nights of my buttery, creamy oyster stew, I am ready for some tangy tomato sauce with pasta! I bought some ground turkey and mushrooms this weekend, so I will be making spaghetti sauce with that tomorrow night!

:D I can't remember when I first started making it in a slow cooker. It seems like I've always made it that way.

I don't eat the oysters....just the stew.
I like the flavor of the oysters in the broth, but I can NOT make myself eat an oyster. They are just so slimy!
So, when I finish eating all the broth, I throw away the oysters. :)

Went to our local Farmer's market on Saturday and got a big bag of sweet potatoes. Does anyone have a recipe for Sweet Potato Pie. I have made pumpkin pies but never one of these and would love to make one.
