No slip bottoms for slippers?

Postby Jcrochet » Mon Nov 26, 2012 11:21 am

Hi, I am making a pair of slippers for my daughter - the Softee Chunky - Slipper Boots (crochet) pattern. I would like to put something on the bottom so that they are no super slippery on our floors. I was looking at suede slipper soles, but have been unable to find them in her size (plus they are not machine washable). My next thought was to get some material similar to what is used on footed pajamas. The problem with using the material is that I have only been able to find it in white and the bottoms of her slippers will be black…my little diva would not approve. :crown:

So I am wondering if I can use the fabric paint on the bottom of the slipper. Would that cause any sort of issue with the yarn? Has anyone tried this approach before?

I located some on Amazon.com -- it is called Performix 075815100139 Super Grip Fabric Spray
Looks like it is worth a try!

I always thought puffy fabric paint would do the trick nicely and if you have a michael's or hobby lobby or joannes you could use a coupon and get it way cheaper!

They have the spray stuff out there and there are even templates that you can make fun shapes with it too but I can't remember where I saw it
