"Autumn Knits" Projects

Postby Shandeh » Sat Sep 29, 2012 4:30 am

I'm in love with all the new knit designs in Bernat's "Autumn Knits" book.

I've decided to make the Aran Cables Cardigan, using Bernat Softee Chunky in the color Peony Pink.

Which "Autumn Knits" design do you like? Will any of you be joining me in making one of them for this Fall?

I just got my yarn this week! I really love this bright, happy color. It will be so fun to work with, and the finished cardigan will be fun to wear as well!

I am back working on the cowl [Granddaughter is happy about that]from this book. However I plan to make it as a scarf. I am also going to do the matching mittens and a hat for her. The colour is Dark Mauve.

Oh, how pretty! You've gotten a lot done so far.
I'm so bad. I haven't even gotten started on my cardigan yet.
But, I do have a good excuse. A customer has asked me to make her a Christmas stocking before Dec 20th, and it's made with fingering weight yarn. So, that's my world right now.

I can remember a time when there was no heavier weight yarns and how long it took to knit a project. Many baby outfits, and I even knit a sweater out of fine yarn when I was in grade three however by the time it was finished it fit my younger sister.

Funny! I had the same issue with some sewing projects I started. I cut out the patterns, but never finished the sewing. Now, they are much too small for me, so I've given the projects away, for someone else to sew together and wear.

Alert the media! I finally got started with my cardigan! :)

Boy, is this ever going FAST! Love using that thick yarn. The new Softee Chunky feels good on my fingers. I tried a few different knitting needles, until I decided that my Denise Interchangeables were the best to use with this yarn. Now, my stitches are flying off the needles.

And the bright color, called "Peony Pink" makes me smile with every stitch.
