yarn for a rug

My granddaughter wants a rug for Christmas. She wants one that pink, purple, and sparkly. She is 5. I want something soft because she will probably be sitting or lying on it. Any suggestions?

I kind of figured that. I told her that I could do pink and purple. I thought maybe a white with a sparkle spread in-between the 2 main colors. I wanted something other than handicrafter. Would one of the yarns work for a rug?
