Finally finished the last of the Christmas knitting. Sweater for a Great-Granddaughter. Who is 1 1/2 years old. Made a size 2.The pattern is from Bernat Kids Book 1279 which I've had for quite a few years.

Another beautiful creation! Just begging to be worn in a family portrait! :cloud9: (BTW, are you Leafs fans? The colors remind me of the Leafs!)

No I'm not but years ago I was a Red Wing fan( The days of Gordie Howe) and watched Saturday night Hockey. At that time there were 6 teams in the league. When they started expanding I lost interest. However the parents of both children are. Yes it is the shade of blue of the Maple Leafs now that you mention it. I had the yarn in my stash and came across it when I was going through the closet. There was enough to knit our little guy his sweater and then there was some left over to knit our little gal one. We are a blended Family so they are not brother and sister. It for some reason made me thinfk of a snowy winter night. Hoping to be able to post a picture of Lilly in hers after Christmas.
Thanks to everyone for their kind words.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. May you all find skeins of fluffy wool under your tree.

This is my Christmas gift for some friends who have a lovely log home in the mountains in Utah. We spent several days with them back in October and had a wonderful relaxing trip. After seeing this little guy, I knew he would be a perfect gift for their "mountain home."

I had fun making him. I've never done amigurumi before but it's continuous rows that get bigger and smaller. How hard could that be! Not difficult, but this particular pattern is a bit challenging. The pieces are joined to the body as you progress instead of being attached after the body is complete. Anyway I like the finished look, and love his tilted head.

He was made with all scrap yarn. Some super saver in walnut and little bits of some satin for the feet and antlers. The scarf was done with Bernat denim style. I found the pattern on Ravelry.

BTW, you will notice that I actually knitted his scarf! And I don't knit....or at least haven't in about 35 years!! Gotta get those needles out and actually make something!

Our grown son has been a huge hockey fan from the age of about 6. That was after Gordie Howe retired, but Wayne Gretzky was in full form, and one of DS's favorite players. He is now working in the communications dept for the NY Islanders, and even though he has met and talked to many sports "legends" over the past few years, he still says those two kind of leave him speechless! (Hoping for a hockey season this year, but at this point, it's not looking good) :(

Linda, I love that reindeer! Especially his cute little lop-sided grin. :cloud9:
Congratulations on getting out the knitting needles again for that little scarf. And way to go on learning to do amigurumi!
