Holiday Projects

Thank you, my friends! This is the 5th stocking I have knit for this customer. Always the same pattern, same yarn, same color changes. I am so glad to fnish this one. She's already asked if I can make two more next year.

For now, I'm gonna work on some fast Christmas gifts, and get started on my new cabled cardigan.

Linda, Murray is so loveable! He has the sweetest little face!

That's kind of what I thought too. He reminded me of Bambi in the scene where he's learning to ice skate, and his legs go right out from under him.....humm, I should have put skates on the bottoms of his feet.

A neat idea, but he is *perfect* just as he is!

Mitten maker: I'm laughing at the way we went from the colour of a sweater to hockey no wonder my DH can't keep up with my sister and my conversations. Must be a Gal thing. I Love these forums so glad I joined.

Hi Ewezer! Yeah, it's all good. I wish I had taken photos of more of my Bernat holiday projects. . .a really neat Star knitted with Handicrafter, and some toques for my nephew and great-nephew.

Here are the house socks I made for my husband. I'm not sure if I will give them to him for Christmas, or for his birthday, which is December 25.
The socks are thick and bulky. I like the Ragg yarn. One photo shows Mr. Jingles inspecting a sock

Let's put it this way. I WANT to make lots of things for my family and friends.
But, in reality, I won't have time to make everything I want.

So, I'm just gonna do the best I can. It's impossible for me to give gifts to all my friends, because there are so many of them. Choir members at church, handbell players, my piano students, knitting and crochet buddies, music friends, etc.

Since I'm in a leadership position, I receive lots of gifts from people. But, I can't afford to repay all of their kindnesses. I understand why they want to give me gifts, and I love everything they give to me. I just wish there was a way that I had more time, so I could make something special for each of them, to show them how much I care. But, I try to show my appreciation to them all year, when I work with them on music or knitting projects. So, I guess that is my gift to them....my time and attention.

My middle son has asked me to knit several things for him, so I'm trying to honor those wishes. And I have a really good friend who appreciates my knits as well. And my mother likes the scarves I make for her, and has asked for a poncho. Also, my grandmother enjoys wearing the slippers I make. I had intended on making things for each of them. But time has slipped by, and I don't have much ready at all.

Oh well....I will just explain to them that I AM making their projects, but they just aren't ready for Christmas. That's the best I can do.

I love rag yarn too. Happy Birthday Mr. Mittenmaker. Mr. Jingles looks nice and cozy all bundled up. Your other Christmas projects sound wonderful.

Your time and attention are the best gifts you can give. The older I get the more I realize how precious time is. Looking back over the years I don't recall the gifts, I received, but I do remember the times that I shared with Family and Friends
