Yum! A few years ago, a little old lady at church handed me a simple white paper plate, loaded with baked goodies, and covered with clear wrap. It was kinda wobbly, so I knew it wouldn't survive the trip home. So, I decided to eat some of the treats, then wrap the rest in the clear wrap to carry home.
Long story short, NOTHING took the trip home. I ate every bite in just a few minutes!! Everything was DELICIOUS!!

The next week, I thanked her for the gift, and said they were the best tasting goodies I had ever had. (which was the absolute truth!) She quietly thanked me. Such a sweet lady.
Anyway, she passed away this year. I played piano at her funeral, and was thinking of those wonderful treats she had made for me. The family spoke of her during the funeral, mentioning the fact that she was always a wonderful cook. Every morning, she made hot breakfast for all of her children, packed homemade lunches for them to take to school, and prepared delicious dinners when they got home. They were lucky kids!
Every Christmas, I'm sure I will think of Miss Jean. She touched my heart with those home-baked goodies.
