Getting Back My Knit/Crochet MOJO!!!

Postby Shandeh » Mon Jan 14, 2013 3:26 pm

Okay, this is earth-shattering news to you all, I'm sure.

I have lost my knit/crochet mojo!!
I am just so tired from the holidays, that I don't feel like doing ANYTHING!

Do you ever experience this yourself? What do you do to get your crafting love back?

The only thing I've been motivated to work on lately is a blanket for charity. There's just something about knitting or crocheting for others that keeps me going. It is just so fulfilling to create something, and present it to someone who really needs it.

But, my personal projects are just sitting there staring at me. I sometimes feel like they are whimpering, saying, "Shandeh! You don't love us anymore!" (crying)

I guess I should be flogged with 20 strands of Bernat yarn. (laughing)
(I know....the yarn wouldn't hurt at all....it's too soft!) :)

I get like that with specific projects. I'm actually struggling with a blanket. I just try to push through

Awe thank you. I'm jealous of some of your projects that you have gotten done. I ended up ripping out the blanket and starting over. I was a single crochet chevron and now it's a double and I'm actually getting through it now. I'm making it to fit a twin bed

Look at you! That's awesome! :bravo:

I am actually starting to feel my mojo coming alive again. :)
Last night, I finished TWO projects that have been crawling along.

Now, I am READY to start that cabled cardigan! :D

I just wish I could keep up the motivation, so I could finish up my Mystery blanket from last year. I took a step in the right direction, though. I picked up that blanket project basket last night, and put it by my knitting chair.

I can relate to your lack of motivation. I have gotten my KAL from last year out again, too. I only have one square to finish kniting and the borders to knit then put it all together! I know we can do these projects and get them done (hopefully) before the next KAL/CAL this year!!! :knit: Praying for our success in these projects

You can do it. I have such a list of projects for others going that I just really want to make something for myself. My husband told me that he would like a blanket as we never have kept any of my finished ones

I'm so glad I'm not alone! You are WAY far ahead of me, though! JUST ONE SQUARE!!
You can DO it! I can't wait to see your blanket!

I think that you are touching on what has kept me frustrated for the past few years.
I keep making promises to make things for others, and then I have trouble keeping up with all the promises!

So, then I feel guilty about not finishing THEIR stuff. And I REALLY WANT to make some things for myself too. :tears:

I guess I need to sit down and look through my project list, and prioritize them differently, so I will get some satisfaction. And I need to let some of my friends know that I just can't make all the things I promised before.

My friends are awesome, so I don't think it will be a problem.
