4 rows for beginning and 3 rows for 3 days in Dallas

I was just too excited about this project, I couldn't help but go back to Jan 1st and crochet up until now. I already happened to have 7 colours in the same satin yarn, so I was pretty much good to go! I just picked up a couple other colours for the far ends of my temperature spectrum, thinking I won't need them for a while. But when I woke up this morning, it felt like -18, so I need to get my dark purple sparkle row on the scarf today.
But here it is up to yesterday:

Fizzy wrote:This is the beginning of my temperature scarf. I am breaking rules. Instead of trying to hide the yarn ends, I am tying them together and making a twisted "fringe" within the scarf. This represents January 1-19. I also am not doing rows by color. I did not want all the yarn changes to be on the sides, so I am using varied amounts of each color and it ends where it ends....

I'm loving how linen stitch is blending the colours together.. I wish I could just keep knitting, but I got to wait till tomorrow!

I'm normally a very calculated knitter who plans out what colour will be used where, so do this is kind of out of my comfort zone! So far I love how it looks & I'm hoping it looks kind of like a patchwork quilt when I'm done.

BuckeyeMom wrote:I posted that I was going to make a lapghan instead of a scarf. Well, let me amend that. I am going to do both. I ordered yarn and it hasn't arrived, should in the next couple of days. I have been reading all the posts and getting anxious to start, so I decided to buy some yarn and start a scarf. I am caught up to today. My lapghan is going to be for the high temperatures, so the scarf is going to be for the lows. White is for below 22 degrees. As you can see, we have had quite of few of those. I bought light weight yarn so it wouldn't be as long, at least I hope it won't.
