I am going to start from the beginning of January 2013 and I can't wait to get started. I'm ordering my yarn tonight! My colors are going to be Bernat Satin and for the weather I found this RedHeart Crochet Thread Fashion 5, I love the sparkly colors and should add some pizzazz to my scarf!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR MY FIRST KAL!!!!

Looks awesome!! I can't wait to see pics!

I wish I knew what February and next November/December had in store for us - but I guess that would ruin the whole element of surprise! LOL
Oh, I got geekishly excited earlier this weekend when I thought about the fact that I'm going on a cruise to Alaska in June. I'm totally going to use the highs for each day in Alaska that week and have a bit of a break from the hot summer stretch of Crimson and Goldenrod!
Unlike you in Houston, it has been colder then normal here in Nor Cal (not that I should be complaining, because it is STILL warmer then elsewhere, right?

)
I love how you are going to use the temps in AK when you are on your cruise.....that really represents the year very accurately....hhhmmmm I am thinking of stealing that idea....
here in nor cal we get a pretty big range when taking into consideration the highs and lows (everything from the 30's to 90's (maybe 101 on a REALLY hot day). Because this KAL/CAL allows for much creativity and deciding what works best for you - here is what I did. I decided to use the high temps only (looked up last years to get a range), decided how many colors I wanted to use and then divided by that number (range was 48-98, and I am using 9 colors) so it ended up breaking down to 53 and below (which is really a range of 48-53), 54-59, 60-65, 66-71 so on and so forth.... I did it this way, because I was to break it down on my own it would have been 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and I felt that would have been just very predictable since the range is not super varied.
Hope that helps you out a bit!
