Discussion and Photos of our Works in Progress (Jan. & Feb.)

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

I am amazed at the number of ideas that have been posted from the announcement of the Temperature Scarf. All the different projects it has started from the scarf to a wrap to a blanket and everything in between, from using the highs to lows to averages to the rain to snow, etc. We are a creative bunch. I have learned about beading while knitting, new stitches, things I never thought of doing. I applaud each and every one of you for your choices. :bravo: :bravo: I am also a little envious because I would never thought of any of these without you. :)

This was my choosing yarn process. I will need to add some reds because 80 degrees and up will be split into 5 degree increments rather than 10.

This is my afghan thru 1/27/13. Yesterday was 75 degrees so I get to add a new color. We got a little rain today and hopefully snow tonight. Can't wait to carry the blue and white for rain and snow with the temperature colors. There is one row with the blue carried so far. It adds a little interest I think.

I decided to make a granny square type afghan instead of the scarf, but I'm losing my mind trying to figure out how to do it as far as layout. Anyone making a granny that figured out how many squares per row and how many rows to get 365 days laid out in months? :hrmm:

I am not doing a granny square but tried to figure out how many rows. It doesn't come out nice and even - I plan on using the border color to add to the month so it is even.

I decided to use leftovers from previous projects that I had enough of. I was so excited about this, too, that I have knitted from January 1 to the 22nd already. Actually I am up to today, but I took the photo from what I had finished on the 22nd.
I can't believe how much fun this is!
oh - and because I am in a fairly temperate climate in the PNW, I decided to do increments of 5 degrees. What do you think?
