Introduce Yourself!

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

Hi! My name is Renee. I just found this CAL through the Crochetville website. I can't wait to join! I have a lot of yarn that my family is wishing I would get rid of, so now I have an excuse to keep it and use some of it for this project. I live in Cleveland, OH and lately our temps have been all over the map. It should make for a fascinating scarf!

Hi I am Julia, mom of a special needs son and that is really a full time job with doctors and therapy appointments. I have been crocheting for quite a few years and love it. I look forward to these crochet-alongs each year. I make crochet items to sell and it helps with income in our home. I look forward to seeing this years scarfs. I am from Tampa, FL so it was fun trying to figure out the colors to use. My friends are curious as to what they are going to be. :hellogoodbye:

Hi! I am Amy and live in Green Bay WI. This is the 3rd KAL that I am doing and am loving this so far! I am very curious to see how the colors pan out for this project as we have already had some odd weather this year! I am going back and starting from January 1 and the temperature swings have been all over the place! It was 24 last weekend, 47 today and is going to be back down to single digit tempts by Friday!

I am using this project to use up some of my stash, so you will see that I am using quite an array of yarns - mostly all novelty type yarns, broken down into 10 degree ranges. The white/grey/silver on the far edge is going to be for those below 0 days (hopefully there will not be many!).

Glad to be here again and happy knitting!

I'm a bit late in the introducing game - but I'm Lynette Weaver. I'm doing my scarf based on the weather here in Greenville, NC. I'm originally from Pennsylvania, however became a Southern transport over six years ago and am loving the lack of snow!!!

I'll be knitting the scarf, trying to decide on different stitches possibly for the theme for each month.

Hi!

Mouse here (of MrsMouse).

Joining in from Leitrim, Ireland.

A group of us are forming a facebook group to chat about our progress and keep each other going. We would've met up and done it together, but we're so disparate across the globe, we needed our own virtual sitting room.

So far, we have, Ireland, Oregon, Malta, and a few other places too.

Looking forward to it!

-Ooooops - would help if I leave the link here too wouldn't it?

Hello, I am looking forward to working on this project. I am new to knitting and a friend encouraged me to join. I am already trying to think of a colour combination I will enjoy working with and wearing.

I live in BC, Canada, so I was thinking some colours to match the weather in a rainforest. Greens, blues, browns and grays etc. Lots to think about.

Happy knitting.

Good Evening,
I am Nancy. I saw this and wasn't too interested in doing it. However, it just kept nagging me. So one evening when I was talking to my darling husband, he mentioned that it sounded kinda neat. He looked up the highs and lows for our area for last year and created a computer program that allows me to see how my scarf may look. I am doing my scarf in five degree increments. However, I haven't decided if I want to do the daily average, daily low, daily high or two rows in the low and two rows in the high each day (kinda of leaning this way). :idonno: Thank goodness all he has to do is a couple lines of code for me to see the differences. I have only pick generic colors ie light blue versus and specific name and will see what is in my stash before I select the final ones. I will be crocheting this with most likely a simple single crochet.

Hopefully, I make up my mind soon so I can start, but until then I am crocheting some monsters for possible Christmas presents.

Hi, I'm Monica from Southern California. Our temps don't vary much, but I split the range into 11 increments. I really liked GrannySquare41390's idea of a square motif afghan. This is my first CAL and first afghan! I am going to represent the low and high each day surrounded by a pale blue sky color. On the rare rainy days I picked a grey yarn for the outer edge.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of the beautiful variations you all post!
