What's it like outside?

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

Today in Dayton OH we had a high of 62 with rain. In the afternoon, the wind picked up. Tomorrow a front is supposed to come through dropping the temp down into the 20s. Basically, we'll be getting something similar to what shar319 above will be getting, just a day later and not quite as severe. Shar319 is onto something, though. Last Friday we had 4" of snow; today we're in the 60s!

Weather update for today...

Highs were between 67-70. Severe Rain causing some floods around town. Strong winds. Thunderstorms. There was a tornado warning, which resulted in me shutting down my shop and heading down to the ground floor, due to sitings of funnel clouds. It was my first time acting on a warning. We usually just have tornado watches. Today has just been chaotic.

What a strange weather week here in western NY state! The average temperatures for the past four days are 13,, 21, 34, and 44 and right now the current temp is 55! Makes for a pretty colorful weather scarf! I did my color bands in10 degree ranges, so I have already used 5 colors in January.

:hellogoodbye:
Couldn't agree more. I am about 30 miles south of Albany NY it 's 50 now and a few days ago it was down to zero. It's certainly keeping it fun.

Today, it is WINDY outside. A constant strong breeze, which is sometimes howling at the windows of my little 1970's home. They say we could possibly get a tornado, but I believe that is highly unlikely. I've lived here my whole life, and have never seen one. We'll just have to wait and see.

I don't have a yarn color for "windy", so I guess I'll just do temps today.....unless it rains.

It's windy up here too! They're going 66 km/h - I nearly got swept onto the street this morning! Half of the team isn't even here yet because the buses are having trouble getting up the big hill toward our office. The combination of wind and ice (it was 10C and raining yesterday, now it's "feels like" -11C so it all froze) makes it difficult for the old TTC buses to chug up the hill.

We also had a wicked weather :rainy: . Everything went down at my place yesterday due to high wind :o . One of my trees fell on the electrical wires taking along with it the wire mast and electric meter as well as all the wiring  . Thank God I was not home when it happened.

lialab--how awful! On my patio I have a wraught iron pole and stand with hooks on it that my bird feeders hang from. When I got up this morning, it had been knocked over from the very gusty wind we had during the night. Today, we had a high of 14 with a wind chill of -3; yet only two days ago, we had a RECORD HIGH of 66! Now we're under a Winter Weather Advisory until Sunday. Crazy, right?!
