Yarn and Colors for Your Temperature Scarf!

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

After receiving my shades and doing the first half of January (... I got impatient) I decided that the original color scheme had too much contrast. Luckily all I needed to do was switch around a couple of the shades! And rip back 15 days' of knitting, but we won't talk about that.

Here's my new scheme! Aqua, Lagoon, and Sage used to be Sage, Aqua, Lagoon. Since I'm going blue-teal-green, it turns out I had some teals before some blues.

It's unfortunate that you had to frog the project, but I can tell that you're going to have quite a lovely scarf once the year is up. I can't wait to see the end result.

Thank you! I'm ok with it, I know I would have been unhappy with the shade progression if I hadn't. Better to frog two weeks than ten months!

Rebels are welcome! :cooldude: Angels too!
Your scarf sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

I hope your procedure goes well, my friend.

Isn't it wonderful that you have such a supportive boyfriend?!

We're in Celsius here in Co. Leitrim Ireland.

My town is too small to show on most maps, so I'm using the MET Eirann (met.ie) county average that it collects at noon every day.

Leitrim averages apparently are 2-19 degrees, so I've rounded it to the nearest multiple of seven to make it easier.

I'm using:

Navy
0-2C

Royal Blue
3-5C

Green
6-8C

Brown
9-11C

Yellow
12-14C

Orange (Rusty - doesn't show to well in this shot)
15-17C

Red
18C +

Yes! Much better to frog two weeks not ten months! Ripping out a project is never fun, but sometimes it is essential to do! This color scheme is stunning as well! Please post pics as you go along!

Hospital stays are no fun...hopefully this will help pass the time! May you heal quickly!

He sounds like a keeper....hubby hates it when I ask him stuff like this...he says "I'm a guy, what do I know". I like to remind him that there are men who knit too....

I love seeing your yarn on a tray! I would love to get a serving of yarn like that. :)
I've recently become addicted to books written by Maeve Binchy, who is in Ireland. Makes me wish I could be there to see it. My family came from Ballymoney, Ireland to Charleston, South Carolina in 1772.

My yarn arrived in the mail today! Yay! I ordered two different greens, and I'm glad I did because I prefer the Bernat Satin "Foliage" to my original choice of the Red Heart Soft green. But they were out of Crimson, so I have RH Soft Really Red, and I'm using their "Grape" instead of the Satin in "Sultana".

Also, I'm doing the edging in "Ebony". I have mostly black winter coats, so I think it will work.

I printed out all the high temps for January, so I can get started tonight! We had a few days over 55, so I'll get to use everything up to the green.

Quick update. Had to change a couple of things and took some away.
Corrections:
Rouge for Tangerine
Fern for Soft Fern
Sage for Lagoon
Took away the grey mist and heather mist.
I am going to leave yarn hanging to add beads to it.
