Just finished a V-stitch baby blanket last night using Bernat Softee Baby in Pale Blue for the expectant daughter of a co-worker.

Needlenut, I know this sounds silly, but is your lovely blanket knitted or crocheted? I love the stitch. If it is a knit stitch, how do you knit it?
Very beautiful work, that your heart went into this project is very evident! :inlove: :knit:

Hi mittenmaker, Thank you for your kind words. This blanket was crocheted using a V-stitch (dc, ch1, dc) and a Size G crochet hook. My crochet skills are still very limited, but I think I have finally mastered the V-stitch, which will add a little variety to my projects.

You're welcome, Needlenut. I do disagree with your statement about your crochet skills being limited though! :D I am strictly a knitter, but if I should ever decide to tackle the art of crochet, I will try the v-stitch! ;)

You are a dedicated crafter. When we moved into our highrise apt. I always carried yarn and needles with me in case the elevator broke down while I was in it. I figured it would give me something to do.
Enjoy Disney too.

Hey that's thinking it through. I knew I would have idle time and I have a hard time just sitting so I grabbed it last minute :)

2 strand off-white hat.jpg
Had a request from a friend for an off white winter hat. So I quickly whipped up this basic 2 strand garter stitch knitted hat using Waverly for Bernat in Birch White. Simple pattern, holding 2 strands together, cast on 30 stitches on Size 11 needles. Knit every row till piece measures 18". Bind off leaving a long tail. Thread tail thru every stitch along one 18" side and draw thru, shaping top of hat, then run a seam down the back.
