Discussion and Photos of our Works in Progress (Jan. & Feb.)

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

I finished January last night! It is a lot of work with all the switching of colors but I like the way it is looking. I am trying to weave in ends every now and then so I won't have so many to do in the end. Still not totally happy with my edge where the joins are but maybe I'll add a border later. :knit: :knit:

I have about 10.5" for Jan. so I may end up just doing 6 mos. Not sure yet.

I have read and re-read the directions on picture posting but for some reason, it isn't happening for me :ire:

I decided to do this year here in Toronto. It's been a cold one! I also decided to do a DC crochet version, so I am kind of scared how long this might turn out... I am doing 2 rows for each day, one for the high and one for the low. Here is what I had after crocheting the first week...

This is for the month of January here in Kentucky. The weather changes so much, I've already used 5 different colors! I decided to do one row per day so,the scarf won't be too long.

And I just finished my daughter's scarf for January. She is southern Tennessee. I'm using the same colors, but putting them in a different order for the temperatures. I think hers is turning out prettier than mine. ;)

Yeah, Jiffy is a Bulky weight yarn, so it won't work to the same gauge as the Medium weight yarns.

So have a bit of catching up to do, hope to post a progress photo in a few days.

Woo Hoo! Glad you found them.

Looks nice! :D

How is yours only 7.5"? What stitch and hook size are you using? My January turned out to be exactly 12"! Yours is much more reasonable! LOL

Hello!
I'm making an afghan with the inner circle representing the low and the second round representing the high. I've gotten the lows about up to date and about 2 weeks of the second round. Any sage advice about finishing the 3rd round and attaching as I go along?
I love seeing everyone's progress!
Thanks, Monica

Here is my completed month of January. I'm doing K2P2 rib using size 6 needles (I tend to knit loosely, so using smaller needles) in Bernat Satin. I'm in the DFW area so the temps range widely. I've broken down my colours in increments of 5 degrees and I'm using 15 colours.

Thanks, Shandeh - for adding my photo! No idea what I did wrong. Thought I had followed the instructions. If you get a chance, send me a personal note with where you think I may have messed up. Enjoying the KAL!
Thanks again
