Introduce Yourself!

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

The yarn label should show the recommended needle size for your yarn.

Hi I am Sara, I have recently had twins. Our family is now 5 kid, a cat, a husband and myself. I want to do this knit along as a way to take time for myself to relax. I live in Calgary Alberta Canada and am working on how my scarf will look. I have to get out sometime to get the yarn though. Hopefully soon.

Hi! My name is Susana. Since I live in Toronto, I used the temperature scale from the Bernant Blog. The colours are slightly different and I am using 100% pima cotton from my LYS. I am an avid crocheter but have decided to learn to knit :knit: by practicing with this project. Our winter has been all over the map so far. The highs for the calendar 2013 year will be used. So far I have complete 10 days and estimate the length of the scarf will be about 7 feet or 2.2 meteres.

Hi, my name is Pat.

My grandson wanted a long, Dr. Who type scarf, so I told him about the Temperature Scarf idea. He loved it! His scarf will be knitted using the daily high temperatures for Wichita, Kansas, in 1996, the year he was born.

I'll be using colors similar to those shown on the blog, except that I've added an additional green and will be using a light gray for the border. I also adjusted the temperature scale so that the lowest (violet) is 24 degrees and below, then a ten degree range for each of the other colors, with the highest (cranberry) being 95 degrees and above.

After charting out the pattern for 1996, I did another one for 2012 just to see how the two years compared. As far as the weather is concerned, I'd like to go back to 1996! There weren't nearly as many 95+ days that year. :)

Hi! I'm Candace and I am returning from last years KAL/CAL. I am working on a second KAL for my husband. The first one I did was long enough for me, but not him. So I'm altering it a bit. I am undecided on yarn for this scarf, but I think I may do high and low temps.

I live in NW Indiana but will always be a Michigander at heart. I taught myself to knit 2 years ago and have crocheted since I was 5. (33 now) I have a ton of sewing projects on my plate but most if my free time is spent with my 11 month old.

Hi, I am Rhiannon from Wales in the UK and came across the Bernat website and was delighted with the idea of making a weather scarf. A most interesting project as our climate is always a topic of conversation. Wales is a beautiful country with hills mountains sandy beaches and green leafy fields, but our weather is very unpredictable, hence why my scarf should turn out to be very interesting.

Pleased that I can join in with the project, only wish the wools were available here. :knit:

Hmmmm

This is a great idea!! I would be starting at Jan 5. :D Tentative due date of 10/10/13.

Pretty sure I have decided to do a chevron pattern as opposed to straight lines.

Hi, I'm Marija from Fort Collins, Colorado where we have had a rather warm winter so far. I love the idea and picked up my yarn over the weekend. I'm using Cascade 220 Sport weight and a wavy design. I also decided I wanted to be a full 2013 scarf, so I went back and knitted up January. Really brought home how warm January was!

Hi I am Kym and I am from Melbourne Australia. I have chosen really beautiful colours for my scarf and since Melbourne's weather is so unpredictable it should be really multi coloured! I am a knitter and constantly think about knitting and what I am going to knit next. I have gotten temps from Jan 1 and starting from there. It is summer here, but I knit all seasons!
