Discussion and Photos of our Works in Progress (Jan. & Feb.)

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

Thanks again

When you tried to post the photo, you used the "Img" button, and put in the wrong link.

I used the "Share" button on the Flickr photo page, then copied and pasted the full code. No need to use the "Img" button when that is done.

It is all explained step-by-step, in the Photo Tutorial I made.

Is anyone crocheting? If so, what stitch are you using and how long is your scarf thru January? I've got my yarn but haven't started yet. I'm trying to decide what I want to do. I was thinking of making four wide scarves and sewing them together into an afghan for my baby who was born on 12/24/12.

So I'm waiting for more yarn to arrive. I am still going to use the linen stitch but am using Shandeh's idea. I am going to add more stitches and make a wrap. That way it can be more versatile for my sister-n-law. :knit:

I love everybody's scarves so far! You're making me feel guilty I haven't posted a photo of my own yet! ;) Once I catch up I'll post one - probably tomorrow.

I am crocheting, using a G hook, one row per day, hdc,ch and January is 13in long. Yikes. I will evaluate after June and maybe stop there. Perhaps a second scarf for the 2nd half of the year. I think your afghan idea is great. I am using 2012 weather so I am thru April. ( 4 1/2 ft so far)

Thanks for the info! I tend to crochet loosely and will be using worsted weight acrylic with a G hook also (H recommended but since I'm loose, I use a smaller hook to account). I'm thinking that 1 wide scarf for each season, sewed together into an afghan would be perfect. It would then be 91 or 92 rows long plus the border of 4 rows top and bottom, so a total of 100 rows. If 31 rows = 13 inches, then that would give me about a 42-44" length.

Hi, I started my scarf on the 1st of Feb. and I am almost caught up. When I figure out how to post a photo, I'll send one. I really enjoy reading about everyone's scarf and love seeing the pics.

How is yours only 7.5"? What stitch and hook size are you using? My January turned out to be exactly 12"! Yours is much more reasonable! LOL

I'm using the crochet moss stitch (or granite stitch) and using the F hook. I figure it will be approximately 85-90 inches since some months are shorter. Longer than I'd like, but still not too bad. :D

So pretty!!! I can't wait to see how your scarf turns out because that's the year I was born.

Thank you, I almost finish the month of February. We had a very mild winter that year. What month were you born? I got married in June.

My parents were married in June too, I was born in November
