Discussion and Photos of our Works in Progress (Jan. & Feb.)

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

Ok I got sucked into it. I was first thinking granny squares then I was thinking bobbles and started it but the wrists objected so the plan is now for a chevron blanket since I seem to be on a roll with them. So I got my yarn today and this is in the rotation if the never ending wip projects cause I needed another one like a hole in the head lol. Depending on how things go between the commission projects an he newly fixed pooch I hope to have enough done to post a pic later this weekend

They all look fantastic! I am making mine exactly as the KAL pattern and I am really happy with it. This is January pictured. Our temps are in Celsius here so red is >39 degrees so not too many scorching days! :knit:

I'm loving how linen stitch is blending the colours together.. I wish I could just keep knitting, but I got to wait till tomorrow! :knit:

Last evening I thought - how about making the temperature scarf in 4 strips representing the seasons: Winter, spring, summer, fall. Assemble the strips side by side into a lapghan or afghan. Have to work out width and length of strips to get the right size. The yarns in the Waverly collection would work well for this project and there are so many shades to choose from. The Cultural Rhythms collection caught my eye because it would match perfectly with the color scheme in my friend's living room.
