Discussion and Photos of our Works in Progress (Mar. & Apr.)

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

Okay, so between being a full-time student, part-time worker and creating a club at school, here is my February update... Sorry that it is posted in the March thread :(

The dark area is Dark Blue, Purple, Dark Blue. The lighting in the bedroom is horrible!

Here's my first photo of the temperatures in Bergen County, NJ; I'm almost through with January in the picture. I think the tube scarf is going to be a bit warm for when we move back to Brisbane, Australia, but I'm sure I can find a couple of colder days to wear it.

I really like the colours of Sheep(ish). I think it's turning out quite nicely (if I say so myself ;) ).

I've caught up through February and the first week of March! A snow day today allowed me some focused knitting time. Excited about the break, but really hoping that's the last of the snow in Bergen Co, NJ.

This picture just shows Jan and Feb.

I'm just now finishing January, so I'm really falling behind. If I can get caught up by the end of the month, I'll post a picture.

Hello again.

So, I discovered that I originally did not have the proper temperatures for my area, instead, near the beginning of my scarf, they were for a location 30 minutes north. I also did not like how skinny my scarf was nor how the edging looked.

So, last month I restarted the project. I made sure to get the proper daily average temperatures, I made the project wider by 10 stitches, and the edging looks amazingly better now since I'm weaving in ends as I go.

I also decided to use two strands of embroidery floss with the yarn on days of weather changes. White/Snow, Blue/Rain, Gray/Fog, Yellow/Thunderstorms. It's more work, but I'm loving the final product. I also accidentally switched when to use my medium and light blues, but I'm staying consistent and that's all that matters.

I plan to work on the March section probably twice this month. I discovered I need to check the temperatures a couple of days after they are posted so the information would be finalized and accurate.

Hi, everyone! All your projects look so nice! Attached (I hope) is a picture of my "panels" for January, February, and the beginning of March.

I like the impact of the embroidery thread. It adds a nice 3rd dimension.
