My 94 year old mother is going to participate in the mystery KAL...she knits daily (usually afghans) and was very excited when I explained about this project. I'm going to show her the available colors tomorrow so she can select her palette.

That's so awesome. I attempted knitting, but am much more into crochet. It's nice that she'll be joining us.

I am going to give this a try. I have been crocheting for a while now but took a long time away from it. I recently began making scarves for all my friends. I hope the blanket will hold my attention. I am so excited because I am getting a new house built, so I picked the colors I want in my living room. I was just thinking the other day it would be nice to have an afghan on the back of the couch for when I get cold. Can't wait. I just ordered my yarn!

Neat! I've tried to get my mother to knit, but she says she is "too young to knit".

I think I might have to involve MY sister as well! I have decided to make both blankets, and I had her choose the colors for the knitted one. I'm going to try working on both of them, but will probably end up getting her involved on finishing the knitted one. She lives in California, and I'm in North Carolina.

So, now we will have TWO sets of sisters making blankets!

I'm new to the forums and the Bernat site in general but not new to crochet. My next door neighbor and I are both doing the CAL, its great to be able to do this and even more of a blessing to have someone to do it with in person. Now if someone can just pray for patience for me... FEBRUARY? You mean January, right? LOL :D
