Introduce Yourself!

If you feel like talking about something that isn't knit- or crochet-related, feel free to do so here.

I'm from the UK and have lived in Spain for 5 years, I love the climate and lifestyle here.

I knit and crochet and started again last year after a break of many, many years, I prefer crochet because it's quicker but also like to knit with chunky yarn.

Over the past year I've made many things from Amigurumi animals to sweaters and shawls..

I've made many like minded friends through a facebook group, some of them are taking part in the CAL/KAL.

I teach English here and am looking forward to the birth of my first grandchild in July

Hobbies? Knitting and crochet of course!

:hellogoodbye: Hi I'm from the U.K. I have lived in England for 23 years now, But I was born and bred in Scotland.

I knit, and have done on and off for about 45 years, learned when in primary school at the age of 7. Stop for a good number of years, then went back to it when I had my 2 Children... Stopped again and only did the odd thing now and again..then really came back to it about 18 mths ago.

I love knitting for my grandchildren ( I have 4) especially the two new one ( 4 months old ). Both my daughters had babies in September...4 days apart...so it was a busy time for a while.

My other hobbies are reading when I have time, the world wide web, socialising with friend and holidays with my husband. Oh and drinking white wine....

Nice to meet you all! :D
I'm Amanda, and I'm one of the graphic designers at Bernat!

Do you knit and/or crochet?
I knit and crochet. I'm much more comfortable knitting then crocheting, so I plan on participating in the CAL to improve!

How long have you been knitting and/or crocheting?
My Aunt taught me to knit when I was still in highschool, but sadly I never completed anything :tears: But since I joined the Bernat team 8 months ago, I've been hooked!
I've only crocheted a couple things (like this http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=4012 dishcloth).. so the CAL will be a challenge for me, but I can't wait to start!

Where are you from?
I'm from Toronto, ON

What are your favorite things to make?
I'm not sure yet- I haven't been knitting/crocheting long enough to choose! Right now I'm just enjoying learning and making new things! Right now I'm trying to master cables :reading:

What other hobbies do you have?
I love to draw and paint, though since I've started knitting that has been put on the back burner. I also like to read, some sewing (right now I'm working on reupholstering a chair.. my first time :helpme: ) going for walks and playing video games!

I'm making some of those dishcloths right now! :D
When I finish my cloths, I like to add a single crochet border all around the edge, in a contrasting color.

Hi All,
I am a long time crochet lover. I was taught by my grandmother and then then just kept teaching myself as time went on. I crochet anything that catches my eye and then have sooo many projects I don't know how I can catch them up, but I do...lol
I am a Maryland native and have just graduated into the Grandma crochet yarn of my life.

Hi all

Live mid state West Virginia, USA

Do you knit or crochet: I do both, although recently most of my projects have been knitted.

How long: I think I started crocheting around 69, the only reason for that is the local Five and Dime store had a Lilly thread book with left-handed instruction. Really was wanting to learn to knit, finally got the chance to teach myself in 73, was at home with newborn and the pattern book I was crocheting from had a really nice knitted shawl pattern that I just had to make. Of course this was when we only had one car , so went to the barn found some big spike nails, brought them in, sanded down the sharp ridges on the sides, hunted up the learning to knit left handed booklet and got started. Later that evening Hubby laughed and laughed when he got home from work, until I told him we had to go buy some real needles and yarn  (Still have those spikes in the bottom of needle/hook chest.)

Like to make about anything as long as there are differnet stitches and patterns, after all doilies were what I learned on  Like most have several pojects working at one time, keeps me from getting bored.

Other Hobbies: Reading, Club Pogo, latch hook rugs, quilting, gardening, camping, fishing. Just about everything at one time or another.
