Peacock Crochet Afghan Pattern

Postby LindaK » Tue Jan 10, 2012 6:24 pm

I found a picture of an afghan that I would love to make. When I called the place to order the pattern, they told me that they no longer had it available. I was hoping that maybe someone here might have the information.
The website where I found it is http://www.herrschners.com/product/Peacock+Afghan.aspx
The information given is "Worked in strips, this afghan is as pretty as a peacock? Afghan kit includes Bernat® Softee® Chunky yarn and instruction book with three additional award-winning crochet designs. Approx. 45 x 60" (114 x 152cm). Imported."

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Linda

Thanks for the responses. :)
I know! Isn't it gorgeous?!
The closest thing that I've found is in a Leisure Arts book "Crochet Insider's Passion for Fashion #4542." I picked it up at AC Moore.
There's a pattern for a Peacock Skirt and I think with a little adjusting, it might work.

I'm playing with it. As soon as I get something that works, I'll post.
Let me know if you guys find anything.

Hi. Reminds me of one of those Mile-a-Minute afghans that start with a long chain and keep working up one side then down the other with a "shell" at each end. If you think of it that way, and just do longer stitches at the "eyes" then with a little experimentation you should get what you want. Just remember to WRITE DOWN ACCURATELY what you are doing so you can repeat it. I have screwed up that part before and spent days trying to reproduce without taking apart an item. Hope that helps.
