I have enough brown & blue tweed, and picked grey, white, tan, and blue for the other colors. Would they be too put out?

Would one be better than the other to meet the recommended gauge for these projects? I tend to knit close to published gauge and crotchet gauge can vary for me, though it's usually close to published gauge too. If I have to choose between KAL and CAL, I will do the KAL. I did the Mystery CAL last year.

Bernat Softee Chunky is a bulky yarn, so it will be too thick for these blankets. Bernat Satin will work to a similar gauge as Waverly, but is a silkier texture.
