This has nothing to do with the Mystery Afghan CAL, but what is the correct pronunciation of BERNAT? I pronounce it as if it were French. Ber-neigh. Other people I know pronounce it Ber-gnat. I want to use the correct pronunciation when I ask for that brand. :hrmm:

It is Burr-Nat

The NAT is pronounced like it looks. There is no NAY in it.

If you watch this video, starring Laura from Bernat, you'll hear her pronounce it several times.

Hi All,
Just wanted to check out what was going on in the forum. I am anxiously awaiting Feb. 15th. I have ordered my yarn, and it has arrived. I am trying to decide if I should order the yarn now for the KAL as well.
This is not my first CAL/KAL. I did a CAL a couple years ago and loved it!! Last year I did the Project Linus CAL/KAL. Great charity opportunity. It is obvious that I enjoy these.
While waiting to start this latest CAL, I am finishing up the many projects in progress. Hopefully they will be finished by the time the first clue is released.

hi,
I too, am anxiously awaiting the first clue, personnally I already ordered and received yarn for both afghan, since I expect to do clue for CAL and clue for KAL during the same week (so I hope). Meanwhile I started a cowl poncho with my stash I am trying to make room for the new yarn ;)

I'm new to crocheting and knitting; is this something that I can do or will there be advanced crochet and knitting stitches that a beginner cannot do?

Beginners are welcome to join us! Each clue will include clear instructions, with illustrations and videos. And we will all be here to help as well!

In 2010, I was a beginning crocheter, and I learned while I was making the Bernat Mystery CAL Blanket for that year. By the end of the process, I was doing intermediate crochet stitches! :D

You can do it. ;)
