Camouflage - Army Surplus Bag (crochet)

Hip urban military style with a twist. Includes cell phone holder, measures approximately 11 inches (28 cm) x 10 inches (25.5 cm). Shown in Bernat Camouflage Mash (#10482) and Hunter Orange (#10628) crochet using size 4 mm (U.S. G or 6) hook.

MEASUREMENTS: Approx 11 ins [28 cm] x 10 ins [25.5].

MATERIALS
Bernat Camouflage (100 g/3.5 oz)
3 balls of #10482 (Mash) as MC
and 1 ball of #10628 (Hunter Orange) as A

or Bernat Camouflage (142 g/5 oz)
2 balls of MC and 1 ball of A.

Size 4 mm (U.S. G or 6) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. 2 quick release buckles. 4 pieces of webbing 5 ins [12.5 cm] long.

GAUGE
16 sc and 18 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS

Body: With MC, ch 45.
1st row: (WS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 44 sc.
2nd row: Ch 2 (counts as hdc). Miss first sc. 1 hdc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each hdc to end of row. Turn. **
Rep last 2 rows for 29 ins [73.5 cm], ending with RS facing for next row.
Next row: Ch 1. Draw up a loop in each of first 2 sts. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook -sc2tog made. 1 sc in each st to last 2 sts. Sc2tog over last 2 sts. Turn.
Rep last row twice more. 38 sts. Fasten off.

Place markers on side of Body: 1st -10 ins [25.5 cm], 2nd -12 ins [30.5 cm] and 3rd -22 ins [56 cm] from foundation ch.

Cell Phone Pocket: With A, ch 9.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in next sc. (2 sc in next ch. 1 sc in each of next 2 ch) twice. 10 sc.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row.
Rep last row for 4 ins [10 cm]. Fasten off.

Gusset and Strap: With MC, ch 17.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. 16 sc.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row.
Rep last row for 50 ins [127 cm]. Do not turn. Fold work in half lengthwise. Ch 1. Working through both thicknesses proceed in sc along entire length. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Place short side of Gusset between 1st and 2nd marked rows of Body. Sew Gusset to Body, ending at 3rd marker. Sew cell phone pocket to Gusset as shown in picture. Fold webbing through buckles and sew to Bag and flap 2 ins [5 cm] in from side edges.
