Masala - Glorious Shawl (crochet)

This lovely openwork shawl provides elegant warmth in the gorgeous shades of Bernat Masala. Measures approximately 69in (175.5 cm) wide x 34-1/2in (87.5 cm) deep. Shown in Bernat Masala Violet Veil (#78315), crochet using size 8 mm (U.S. L or 11) hook.

MEASUREMENTS
Approx 69 ins [175.5 cm] wide x 34½ ins [87.5 cm] deep.

MATERIALS
Bernat Masala (100 g/3.5 oz) 3 balls of 78315 (Violet Veil).

Size 8 mm (U.S. L or 11) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
8 sc and 9½ rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS
Ch 108.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 9th ch from hook (counts as dc, ch 3 and sc). Turn. Ch 1. 1 sc in last sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 ch. (Turn. Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc) 3 times. Miss next 2 ch of foundation ch. 1 dc in next ch. *Ch 3. Miss next 2 ch. 1 sc in next ch. Turn. Ch 1. 1 sc in last sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 ch. (Turn. Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc) 3 times. Miss next 2 ch of foundation ch. 1 dc in next ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Turn. 17 diamonds.
2nd row: Ch 5. Miss first dc and 3 sc. 1 sc in next sc. Ch 2. 1 tr in next dc. *Ch 2. Miss next 3 sc. 1 sc in next sc. Ch 2. 1 tr in next dc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 6 (counts as dc and ch 3). 1 sc in next sc. Turn. Ch 1. 1 sc in last sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 ch. (Turn. Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc) 3 times.
