Cute, basic pullover for little ones is an easy project. Sizes 2-10 (chest measurement 21-28in (53.5-71cm). Shown in Bernat Softee Chunky Twists Tropic Twists (#86712) knit using sizes 5 mm (U.S. 8) and 6 mm (U.S. 10) needles.

Sizes: 2 (4-6-8-10): 21 (23-25-26½-28) ins [53.5 (58.5-63.5-67.5-71) cm].
Finished chest: 24½ (26½-29-31-33) ins [62 (67.5-73.5-78.5-84) cm].
MATERIALS
Bernat Softee Chunky Twists (80 g/2.8 oz)
4 (4-5-5-6) balls of
#86712 (Tropic Twists)
or #86630 (Tangerine Twists)
or #86730 (Tango Twists).
Sizes 5 mm (U.S. 8) and 6 mm (U.S. 10) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. 2 st holders.
GAUGE: 15 sts and 20 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st.
INSTRUCTIONS

smallest size. If changes are necessary
for larger sizes the instructions will be

BACK: **With smaller needles, cast
on 46 (50-54-58-62) sts.
1st row: (RS). K2. *P2. K2. Rep
from * to end of row.
2nd row: P2. *K2. P2. Rep from
* to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows of (K2. P2)
ribbing 4 times more.
Change to larger needles and beg
with a knit row, proceed in
stocking st until work from beg
measures 7 (8½-9½-10½-11½) ins
[18 (21.5-24-26.5-29) cm], ending
with a purl row.
Shape armholes: Cast off 4 (5-5-6-6) sts beg of next 2 rows. 38
(40-44-46-50) sts.**
Cont even until armholes measure
6½ (7-7½-8-8½) ins [16.5 (18-19-20.5-21.5) cm], ending with a
purl row.
Shape shoulders: Cast off 5 (5-6-6-7) sts beg next 2 rows, then 5 (6-6-6-6) sts beg next 2 rows. Leave rem 18 (18-20-22-24) sts on a st holder.
FRONT: Work from ** to ** as
given for Back.
Cont even until armholes measure
4 (4½-4½-5-5) ins [10 (11.5-11.5-12.5-12.5) cm], ending with
a purl row.
Shape neck: Next row: K14
(15-17-17-19). K2tog (neck edge).
Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare
needle. 15 (16-18-18-20) sts.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next
2 rows, then on every following alt
row to 10 (11-12-12-13) sts.
Cont even until armhole measures
same length as Back to shoulder,
ending with a purl row.
Shape shoulder: Cast off 5 (5-6-6-7) sts beg next row. Purl 1 row.
Cast off rem 5 (6-6-6-6) sts.
With RS of work facing, slip next 6
(6-6-8-8) sts from spare needle onto
a st holder. Join yarn to rem sts: Sl1.
K1. psso. Knit to end of row. 15
(16-18-18-20) sts. Work as given
for left side, reversing all shapings.
SLEEVES: With smaller needles,
cast on 30 (34-34-38-38) sts.
Work 10 rows in (K2. P2) ribbing
as given for Back.
Change to larger needles and
proceed in stocking st, inc 1 st each
end of next and every following 2nd
(2nd-2nd-4th-4th) row to 40 (40-40-56-60) sts, then every following
4th (4th-4th-6th-6th) row to 48
(52-56-60-64) sts.
Cont even until work from beg
measures 9 (11-13-14½-16) ins
[23 (28-33-37-40.5) cm], ending
with a purl row. Place marker at
each end of last row.
Cont for a further 6 (6-6-8-10)
rows. Cast off loosely.
FINISHING: Pin garment pieces to measurements. Cover with a damp cloth, leaving cloth to dry.
Collar: Sew right shoulder seam.
With RS of work facing and
smaller needles, pick up and knit
13 (13-16-16-17) sts down left
front neck edge. K6 (6-6-8-8) from
front st holder. Pick up and knit 13
(13-16-16-17) sts up right front
neck edge. K18 (18-20-22-24)
from back st holder. 50 (50-58-62-66) sts.
Beg with a 2nd row, work 3 rows
in (K2. P2) ribbing as given for
Back.
Cast off in ribbing.
Sew left shoulder and collar seam. Sew in Sleeves, placing rows above markers along cast off sts of Front and Back to form square armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams.
