MATERIALS
Bernat Boa (50 g/1.75 oz)

Sizes
S 4 balls
M 4 balls
L 5 balls
XL 6 balls
2XL 7 balls

Sizes 5 mm (U.S. 8) and 5½ mm (U.S. 9) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook.

GAUGE: 14 sts and 17 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st with larger needles.

INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).

BACK: With smaller needles, cast on 56 (63-70-79-83) sts.
Work 7 rows in garter st (knit every row), noting 1st row is WS and inc 6 sts evenly across last row. 62 (69-76-85-89) sts.

Change to larger needles and beg with knit row, proceed in stocking st until work from beg measures 9½ ins [23 cm], ending with RS facing for next row.

Armhole shaping: Cast off 5 (5-5-7-7) sts beg next 2 rows. 52 (59-66-71-75) sts.
Next row: (RS). Knit.
Next row: K3. Purl to last 3 sts. K3.
Rep last 2 rows until armhole measures 8 (8-8½-9-9½) ins [20.5 (20.5-21.5-23-24) cm], ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off. Place markers 15 (17-18-21-23) sts in from both sides of Back for shoulders.

LEFT FRONT: With smaller needles, cast on 28 (32-35-40-42) sts.
Work 7 rows in garter st, noting 1st row is WS and inc 3 sts evenly across last row. 31 (35-38-43-45) sts.

Change to larger needles and proceed as follows:
Next row: (RS). Knit.
Next row: K3. Purl to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows until work from beg measures 9½ ins [23 cm], ending with RS facing for next row.

Armhole and v-neck shaping: Cast off 3 sts. Knit to last 5 sts. K2tog. K3. 25 (29-32-35-37) sts.
Next row: K3. Purl to last 3 sts. K3.
Next row: Knit to last 5 sts. K2tog. K3.
Rep last 2 rows to 15 (17-18-21-23) sts.
Cont even in stocking st, having 3 garter sts at Neck and armhole edges, until armhole measures same length as Back, ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off.

RIGHT FRONT: Work as given for Left front, reversing shaping for armholes and v-neck.

FINISHING
Sew shoulders and side seams.

Ties: (make 2). With crochet hook, chain 12. Fasten off. Sew ties to beg of V-neck shaping.
