Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Baby
Solids (400 g/14 oz)
or Ombres (340 g/12 oz)
1 ball of Baby Blue or Baby Lullaby or Baby Green or Baby Lilac or Baby Pink or Baby Pastels or Baby Yellow.

Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. Button.

GAUGE: 20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS
BIB: Cast on 17 sts.
1st row: (RS). Knit. Beg with a purl row, proceed in stocking st and cast on 5 sts at beg of next 4 rows. 37 sts.
Cont even in stocking st for 6 ins [15 cm], ending with a purl row.

Shape neck: 1st row: K10. K2tog. Turn. Leave rem sts on a spare needle.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 3 rows. 8 sts.

Work 16 rows even.
Inc 1 st at neck edge on next 4 rows. 12 sts.

Inc 1 st at neck edge, AT SAME TIME dec 1 st at outer edge on next 4 rows. 12 sts.
Next row: (RS). Cast off 5 sts. Knit to last st. Inc 1 st in last st.
Next row: Inc 1 st in first st. Purl to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows twice more. 3 sts. Cast off.

With RS of work facing, slip next 13 sts onto a st holder. Sl1. K1. psso. Knit to end of row.
Work to correspond to first side, reversing all shapings.

Neck edging: With RS of work facing, pick up and knit 27 sts down left neck edge, K13 from st holder, dec 1 st at center. Pick up and knit 27 sts up right neck edge. 66 sts.
Knit 4 rows. Cast off knitwise (WS).

Outer edging: With RS of work facing, pick up and knit 166 sts around outer edge of Bib.
Knit 4 rows. Cast off knitwise (WS).

Button loop: Cast on 14 sts. Cast off. Fold loop in half and sew in position at back left end.
Sew button to correspond to loop at back right end.

BOOTIES: Cast on 35 sts.
1st and alt rows: (WS). Knit.
2nd row: (K1. yfwd. K16. yfwd) twice. K1. 39 sts.
4th row: (K1. yfwd. K18. yfwd) twice. K1. 43 sts.
6th row: (K1. yfwd. K20. yfwd) twice. K1. 47 sts.
Knit 11 rows (garter st).

Shape toe: 1st row: (RS). K19. K2tog. K5. Sl1. K1. psso. Sl1. yf. Turn.
2nd row: K2tog. K5. Sl1. K1. psso. Sl1P. yf. Turn.
