This sweet and simple crochet bag is ideal for your books, lunch, knitting supplies, and everything else! Approx. 9" x 12" x 3.5 (23 x 30 x 9 cm). Shown in Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Stripes, using 5 mm (US H or 8) crochet hook.

MEASUREMENTS
9 x 12 x 3½ ins [23 x 30.5 x 9 cm].

MATERIALS
Bernat® Handicrafter® Stripes (42.5 g / 1.5 oz): 5 balls #21010 (Natural Stripes).

Size 5 mm (U.S. H / 8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. 4 grommets.

GAUGE: 12 sc and 13 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS
Front and Back (make alike).
Ch 28.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch to end of ch. Turn. 27 sc. Work in sc for 11 ins [28 cm].
Next row: (Eyelet row). Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 6 sc. Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc) twice. Turn.
Work 2 rows in sc. Fasten off. Apply grommets in eyelets.

Gusset: Ch 12.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 11 sc. Work in sc for 33 ins [84 cm]. Fasten off.
With WS tog, crochet Gusset to sides and bottom of Front and Back.

Handles: Ch 5. Join with sl st in first ch.
1st rnd: (RS). Ch 1. 1 sc in each ch around. 5 sc. Place marker for end of rnd and slip marker every rnd.
Work in sc for 16 ins [40.5 cm]. Fasten off. Thread handles through grommets and knot ends.
