Afghan: Approx 42 ins x 56 ins [106.5 cm x 142 cm].
Pillows: Approx 14 ins [35.5 cm] square.

MATERIALS
Bernat® Harmony
(Solids: 100 g/3.5 oz / Ombres: 80 g/2.8 oz)
Afghan (1 Pillow-2 Pillows)
Main Color (MC): (Blue) 6 (2-3) balls
Contrast A: (Green) 2 (2-2) balls
Contrast B (Beige) 3 (2-2) balls

Size 10 mm (U.S. N or 15) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. 2 pillow forms 14 inch [35.5 cm] square.

GAUGE
One Motif = 7 ins [18 cm] square with 2 strands tog.

INSTRUCTIONS
Afghan
Small Motif A (make 12)
With 2 strands of A tog, ch 4. Join with sl st to form a ring.
1st rnd: Ch 3 (counts as dc). 2 dc in ring. (Ch 2. 3 dc) 3 times in ring. Ch 2. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off.
2nd rnd: Join MC with sl st to any corner. Ch 3 (counts as dc). (1 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in same corner. [1 dc in each of next 3 dc. (2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in next ch 2 sp] 3 times. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off.
3rd rnd: Join A with sl st to any corner. Ch 3 (counts as dc). (1 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in same corner. [Ch 1. Miss next 2 dc. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Ch 1. Miss next 2 dc. (2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp. 3 dc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1] 3 times. Ch 1. Miss next 2 dc. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Ch 1. Miss next 2 dc. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off.

With RS tog and 2 strands of A, crochet 4 Motifs tog to form Large Motif A.
Make 2 more Large Motifs A.

Small Motif B (make 12)
Work as given for Motif A, substituting B for A.
With RS tog and 2 strands of B, crochet 4 Motifs tog to form Large Motif B.
Make 3 more Large Motifs B.

Large Motif C (make 3)
Work as given for Motif A as follows:
Work 1st rnd with MC.
Work 2nd rnd with A.
Work 3rd rnd with MC. Do not fasten off at end of rnd.
4th rnd: With MC, ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in next dc. [(2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. 2 dc in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. 2 dc in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc] 3 times. (2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. 2 dc in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. 2 dc in next ch-1 sp. Join A with sl st to top of ch 3.

Large Motif D (make 3)
Work as given for Motif C, substituting B for A.

FINISHING
With RS tog and 2 strands of B, crochet Large Motifs A, B, C and D tog as shown in Diagram I.

Edging: With RS facing, join 2 strands of B with sl st to any corner of Afghan. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp.
Proceed in sc around Afghan, working 24 sc along each side of Large Motifs and 3 sc in corners. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Tassels: (make 4). Cut a piece of cardboard 4½ ins [11 cm] wide. Wind 2 strands of B around cardboard 18 times. Break yarn leaving a long end and thread end through a needle. Slip needle through all loops and tie tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly around loops ¾ inch [2 cm] below fold. Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly. Sew 1 tassel at each corner of Afghan.

Pillow
FRONT
Make 2 motifs each of Small Motif A and B.
Sew Motifs tog as shown in Diagram II.

Edging: With RS facing, join 2 strands of B with sl st to any corner. Ch 1. Work 23 sc along each side of Front and 3 sc in corners. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

BACK
Work as given for Large Motif D. Do not fasten off at end of last rnd.
7th rnd:With B, ch 1. Work 23 sc along each side and 3 sc in corners. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

FINISHING
With WS Front and Back tog, join 2 strands of B in any corner and crochet 3 sides of pillow top. Insert pillow form. Crochet rem side closed.
Tassels: (make 4). Work as given for Tassels of Afghan. Sew 1 tassel at each corner of Pillow.
