Approx 36 x 41 1/2 ins [91 x 105 cm].
Bernat® Cottontots (Solids 100 g/3.5 oz/ Ombres 85 g/3 oz)
Main Color (MC): (Ombre) 3 balls
Contrast A: (Blue) 3 balls
Contrast B: (Yellow) 2 balls
Contrast C: (White) 2 balls

Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. 5 buttons.

GAUGE
16 sts and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pat.

INSTRUCTIONS
Note: To change colors, work to last 2 loops on hook. Draw loop in next color through 2 loops on hook to complete st and proceed in next color.

Strip A (make 2)
With B, ch 28.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch across. 27 sts. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1.Miss next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Miss next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
4th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc and ch-1 sp to end of row. Turn.
5th to 7th rows: As 2nd to 4th rows.
8th to 19th rows: As 2nd to 7th rows twice, joining A at end of last row.
20th row: (WS). With A, ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Turn.
21st row: Ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Join MC. Turn.
22nd row:With MC, ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Turn.
23rd to 25th rows:WithMC, as 2nd to 4th rows, joining A at end of last row.
26th to 37th rows: As 20th to 25th rows twice, joining A at end of last row.
38th row: As 20th row.
39th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Fasten off.
40th row:With RS facing, join C with sl st to first st. Ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Turn.
41st to 58th rows: With C, as 2nd to 7th rows 3 times, joining A at end of last row.
59th to 78th rows: As 20th to 39th rows.
79th row:With RS facing, join B with sl st to first st, ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Turn.
80th to 97th rows: With B, as 2nd to 7th rows 3 times, joining A at end of last row.
98th to 117th rows: As 20th to 39th rows.
118th to 135th rows: As 40th to 58th rows. Fasten off.

Strip B (make 1)
With A, ch 28.
1st row: (WS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch across. Turn. 27 sts.
2nd to 20th rows: As 21st to 39th rows of Strip A. Fasten off.
21st row: With RS facing, join B with sl st to first st, ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Turn.
22nd to 39th rows:With B, as 2nd to 7th rows of Strip A 3 times, joining A at end of last row.
40th to 59th rows: As 20th to 39th rows of Strip A. Fasten off.
60th row:With RS facing, join C with sl st to first st, ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Turn.
61st to 78th rows: With C, as 2nd to 7th rows of Strip A 3 times, joining A at end of last row.
79th to 98th rows: As 20th to 39th rows of Strip A. Fasten off.
99th row: As 21st row.
100th to 117th rows:With B, as 2nd to 7th rows of Strip A 3 times, joining A at end of last row.
118th to 137th rows: As 20th to 39th rows of Strip A. Fasten off.

Strip C (make 1)
Work as given for Strip A substituting C for B and B for C.

Strip D (make 1)
Work as given for Strip B substituting C for B and B for C.

Strip Edging: Work as follows on right-hand side of long edge of 1 Strip A and Strips B, C and D only:
1st row:With RS facing, join A with sl st at bottom right corner. Work 140 sc evenly up long edge. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in back loop only of each st to end of row. Fasten off.
Sew Strips tog as shown on Diagram.

Blanket Edging: 1st rnd: Join A with sl st in top right corner. Ch 1. 3 sc in same sp. Work 1 rnd of sc evenly around, having 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc. Turn.
2nd rnd: (WS). Ch 1. 1 sc in back loop of each sc around, working 3 sc in corners. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
