Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. 4 buttons.

GAUGE
16 dc and 7 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

STITCH GLOSSARY
Dc2tog = (Yoh and draw up a loop in next st. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook.

INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for largest size the instructions will be written thus ( ).
Note: Carry color not in use loosely across top of previous row and work color in use over it. To change colors, work to last 2 loops on hook. Draw loop in next color through 2 loops on hook to complete st and proceed in next color.

BODY (worked in one piece to armholes)
With MC, ch 77 (83).
1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. 1 dc in next ch. *With A, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. With MC, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Rep from * across, joining A at end of last dc. 75 (81) dc. Turn.
2nd row:With A, ch 3 (counts as dc). Miss first dc. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. *With MC, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. With A, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Rep from * across, joining MC at end of last dc. Turn.
3rd row: With MC, ch 3 (counts as dc). Miss first dc. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. *With A, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc.With MC, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Rep from * across, joining A at end of last dc. Turn.
Rep 2nd and 3rd rows for pat until work from beg measures 6 (6½) ins [15 (16.5) cm] ending with RS facing for next row.

Divide for armholes and neck:
Right Front: Next row: (RS). With appropriate color, ch 3 (counts as dc). Miss first dc. Dc2tog over next 2 sts. Pat across next 16 (17) sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Next row: Ch 3. Pat to last 3 sts. Dc2tog over next 2 sts. 1 dc in last st. Turn.
Next row: Ch 3 (counts as dc). Miss first dc. Dc2tog over next 2 sts. Pat to end of row. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows twice more. 12 (13) sts.
Work 1 row even in pat. Fasten off.

Back: With RS of work facing, join appropriate color with sl st to next st. Ch 3 (counts as dc). Pat across next 36 (40) sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Cont even in pat for 7 more rows, ending with RS facing for next row. Fasten off.

Left Front: With RS of work facing, join appropriate color with sl st to next st. Ch 3 (counts as dc). Pat across next 15 (16) sts. Dc2tog over next 2 sts. 1 dc in last st. Turn.
Next row: Ch 3 (counts as dc).
Dc2tog over next 2 sts. Pat to end of row. Turn.
Next row: Ch 3. Pat to last 3 sts.
Dc2tog over next 2 sts. 1 dc in last st. Turn.
Rep last 2 rows twice more. 12 (13) sts.
Work 1 row even in pat. Fasten off.

SLEEVES
With MC, ch 29.
1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. 1 dc in next ch. *With A, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. With MC, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Rep from * across, joining A at end of last dc. 27 dc.Turn.
Beg on a 2nd row, work in pat as given for Body, shaping sides by working 2 sts at beg and end of 3rd and following
alt rows until there are 35 sts, taking inc st into pat.
Cont even in pat until Sleeve measures 6 (7½) ins [15 (19) cm] ending with RS facing for next row. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements.
Cover with a damp cloth, leaving cloth to dry.
Sew shoulder seams.

Body Edging: 1st rnd: With RS of Body facing, join MC with sl st in rem loop of foundation ch at corner of Left Front. Ch 1. 3 sc in same sp as last sl st. Work 73 (79) sc across bottom edge to next corner. 3 sc in corner. Work 18 (22) sc up Right Front to beg of neck shaping, 18 sc up neck edge, 13 (15) sc across Back neck edge, 18 sc down Left Front neck edge, 18 (22) sc down Left Front edge. Join with sl st to first sc. 164 (180) sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. 3 sc in next corner sc. 1 sc in each sc to next corner sc. 3 sc in corner sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. *Ch 2. Miss next 2 sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 (4) sc. Rep from * twice more. Ch 2. Miss next 2 sc. 1 sc in each sc to end of rnd. Join with sl st to first sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in each sc to next corner sc. 3 sc in each corner sc and 2 sc in each ch-2 sp around. Join A with sl st to first sc.
4th rnd: With A, ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and ch 1). *Miss next sc. 1 dc in next sc. Ch 1. Rep from * around, working [(1 dc. Ch 1) twice. 1 dc] in each corner sc. Join MC with sl st to 3rd ch of ch 4. Break A.
5th rnd:With MC, ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. *1 hdc in next missed sc from 3rd rnd (working around ch-1 sp of 4th rnd). 1 sc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Sew sleeve seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew buttons to correspond to buttonholes.
