MATERIALS
Bernat® Handicrafter Cotton (50 g/ 1.75 oz)
Main Color (MC) (Beige) 4 balls
Contrast B (Purple) 3 balls

Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
13 sc and 15 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS
Note: To change color, work to last 2 loops on hook. Draw loop in next color through 2 loops on hook to complete st and proceed in next color.
With MC, ch 2.
Foundation rnd: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. 16 sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Join with sl st to first sc. 24 sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * to last 2 sc. 2 sc in each of last 2 sc. Join A with sl st to first sc. 33 sc.
4th rnd: With A, ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3 sc. *Draw up a long loop in next sc 1 row below. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook – long sc made. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc (do not miss sc behind long sc). Rep from * around. 1 long sc in next sc 1 row below. Join with sl st to first sc. 44 sts.
5th rnd: With A, ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3 sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * to last sc. 2 sc in last sc. Join MC with sl st to first sc. 55 sc.
6th rnd: With MC, ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
7th rnd: With MC, ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 4 sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of rnd. Join with sl st to first sc. 66 sts.
8th rnd: With MC, as 6th rnd. Join A with sl st to first sc.
9th rnd:With A, ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 6 sc. *1 long sc in next sc 1 row below. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc (do not miss sc behind long sc). Rep from * around. 1 long sc in next sc 1 row below. Join with sl st to first sc. 77 sc.
10th rnd: With A, as 6th rnd. Join MC with sl st to first sc.
11th rnd: With MC, ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 6 sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of rnd. Join with sl st to first sc. 88 sc.
12th rnd:With MC, as 6th rnd.
13th rnd: With MC, ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 7 sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of rnd. Join with sl st to first sc. 99 sc.
14th rnd: With MC, as 6th rnd. Join A with sl st to first sc.
15th rnd: With A, ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 8 sc. 2 sc in next sc. Rep from * to end of rnd. Join with sl st to first sc. 110 sc.
16th rnd: With A working in front loops only, ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
17th rnd: With A, working in both loops, ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. Join MC with sl st to first sc.
18th to 20th rnds: With MC, as 17th rnd 3 times. Join A with sl st to first sc.
21st rnd: (Make handles). With A, ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. *Ch 12. Miss next 10 sc. 1 sc in next sc. Turn. Work 12 sc in ch 12 sp. 1 ss in next sc. Turn. 1 ss in each of next 13 sc.* 1 sc in each of next 44 sc of 20th rnd. Rep from * to * once more. 1 sc in each sc of 20th rnd to end of rnd. Join with sl st to first sc.
22nd rnd: Ch 1. Working from left to right instead of from right to left, as usual, work 1 sc in each sc around for reverse sc. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Lower Edging: Join A with sl st to any rem loop of 16th rnd.Working from left to right, instead of from right to left as usual, work 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
