MEASUREMENT: Approx 9 ins [23 cm] square.

MATERIALS
Bernat® Handicrafter Cotton Denim (50 g/1.75 oz)
Main Colour (MC): 13114 (Indigo) 1 ball
Contrast A: 13628 (Hot Orange) 1 ball

Size 5 mm (U.S. H/8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE: 13 sc and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS
With MC, ch 29.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. 28 sc. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
Rep last row until work from beg measures 8½ ins [21.5 cm], ending with a WS row. Turn. Do not break MC.

Edging
1st rnd: Ch 1. 3 sc in first sc. Work sc evenly around outer edge, working 3 sc in each corner. Join A with sl st to first sc.
2nd rnd: With A, ch 1. Working from left to right instead of from right to left as usual, work 1 reverse sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. Ch 10 for hanging loop. Join with sl st to first ch. Fasten off.

Belt Loops (make 2)
With MC, ch 9.
1st rnd: 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to last ch. 4 sc in last ch. Working across opposite side of foundation ch, 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Button: With A, ch 4. Join with sl st to first ch to form ring.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 10 sc in ring. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

FINISHING: Sew Belt Loops and Button in position. With A, embroider waistband, fly and pockets with running st and belt loop rivets with French knots.
