07530 (Grand Canyon) 3 balls

Size 12.75 mm (U.S. 17) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
6½ sts and 11 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 37 sts.
1st row: (WS). Knit.
2nd row: Knit.
3rd row: Purl.
4th and 5th rows: As 2nd and 3rd rows. Place marker at end of 5th row.
Note: To reverse for optional cuff turn-back, RS of work now becomes WS.
Next row: (WS). Purl.
Next row: Knit.
Rep last 2 rows until work from marker measures 6½ ins [16.5 cm] ending with a purl row.
Shape top: 1st row: (RS). K1. *K2tog. K4. Rep from * to end of row. 31 sts.
2nd and alt rows: Purl.
3rd row: K1. *K2tog. K3. Rep from * to end of row. 25 sts.
5th row: K1. *K2tog. K2. Rep from * to end of row. 19 sts.
7th row: K1. *K2tog. K1. Rep from * to end of row. 13 sts.
Break yarn, leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through rem sts.
Sew center back seam, reversing seam for cuff turnback at marker.
