MATERIALS
Sheep(ish)™ by Vickie Howell (85 g/3 oz, 153 m/167 yds)
Lime(ish) (00021) 2 balls
Size 5.5 mm (U.S. 9) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. Size 6.5 mm (U.S. K-10½) crochet hook (for fringe only). Yarn needle.
GAUGE
17 sts = 4" [10 cm] in bias pattern.
ABBREVIATIONS
K = Knit
K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together
P = Purl
Pat = Pattern
Pf&b = Purl in front and back of same stitch —1 st increased
RS = Right side
WS = Wrong side
INSTRUCTIONS
SCARF
Cast on 33 sts.
Row 1 (RS): K2tog, k1, *p2, k2; repeat from * to last 2 sts, p1, pf&b.
Row 2: P1, k2, *p2, k2; repeat from * to last 2 sts, p2.
Row 3: K2tog, *p2, k2; repeat from * to last 3 sts, p2, pf&b.
Row 4: *K2, p2; repeat from * to last st, k1.
Repeat Rows 1–4 until piece measures 60" [152.5 cm] from beginning. Cast off in pat.
FINISHING
Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
Fringe (optional)
Cut 12" [30.5 cm] strands of yarn. Holding 5 strands together, fold fringe in half. Using crochet hook, *insert hook from WS to RS into short end of Scarf and into folded strands, pull folded strands through forming a loop, insert ends into loop and pull tight against edge; repeat from * working 11 fringes evenly spaced across. Repeat across other end of Scarf.
