1. Cast on by inserting needle from back to front across top edge of yarn, approx 1 inch [2.5 cm] apart. Turn to work first row.

2. Insert right-hand needle from front to back through first st on the left-hand needle. Insert right-hand needle into top edge of working yarn, approx 1 inch [2.5 cm] from last stitch.

3. Draw working yarn through to create stitch on right-hand
needle.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3, knitting into yarn at approx 1 in [2.5 cm] intervals.
